BEWARE

  • Home kits cannot be used by New York State residents.
If you purchase a kit online, at the pharmacy, or a non-legal informational DNA test through a website, after paying shipping, processing, lab fees, and add-on fees, accredited laboratories will be unable to release results because they do not meet NYSDOH chain-of-custody requirements. That means after paying you will not be able to receive your results or obtain a refund. Additionally, AABB-accredited laboratories do not allow the consumer/client to provide their own test kit, even if it’s sealed.

Prenatal DNA Testing

We do not provide prenatal DNA testing in-house. If you need prenatal testing, we can refer you to a provider we’ve worked with previously:

Legal Questions about Immigration DNA-Related Issues? Free Advice is Available

At AABB DNA Testing, we understand that the process of gathering immigration DNA testing information can sometimes be confusing. While we are not a legal representation firm, but are a NYC DNA testing facility that is reliable and experienced with regard to DNA immigration testing, we also understand than many of our clients are hard working American citizens trying to navigate the complicated world of the immigration process.

Most of our immigration based clients come to us for DNA testing because they are sponsoring a family member, or several family members in an effort to bring them to this country on a permanent visa. DNA testing for immigration purposes is sometimes required when formal documents regarding relationships either don’t exist or are not reliable or acceptable to the U.S. government.

immigration-dna-testing-free-legal-adviceIf you have legal questions regarding immigration DNA testing, the process itself, how to protect yourself or your loved ones, privacy and other related issues, we at AABB DNA Testing cannot provide answers, but are more than willing to guide you in the process of finding the appropriate and most accurate legal information.

The Justice Department of the United States provides pro bono (free) legal services to individuals who have questions regarding the legal process of sponsoring family members to immigrate to the United States. You can find out more by visiting http://www.justice.gov/eoir/probono/states.htm.

When DNA Testing is Required for Immigration, it May be Necessary to Contact the U.S. Embassy Overseas

dna-testing-for-us-embassyDepending on where a sponsored family member lives, you may be required to contact the U.S. embassy in that country to complete the DNA testing process. Often, DNA testing is required to complete the visa application process when legal documentations proving the familial relationship are either lost, not recognizable to the U.S government, or not accepted.

The process for completing international DNA testing generally begins in the United States with the sponsoring citizen. When you begin the process of DNA testing in NYC, for example, you may find a list of acceptable agencies in your family member’s home country through the DNA testing facility here.

If not, then your family member may be required to seek out a U.S. embassy or consulate in their homeland. If you need to contact the U.S. embassy in your family’s country, you can reach them via email to get the process started. You can find the embassy and appropriate email address through http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis or through http://www.usembassy.gov/.
