The fact is that, while DNA testing to prove maternity is not as common a practice as testing to proved or disprove biological fatherhood—it is done.

If you want to opt for DNA testing for maternity, you may choose private or legal.
For private testing, you can actually do a home test. But, for legal maternity DNA testing that will stand up in court, you will need to have an appointment for a chain of custody sample collection in which the sample must be documented all along the steps of the process from start to finish.
